BOGOTÁ.- Colombian soccer player Jhon Arias showed his solidarity with the victims of the earthquake that struck Colombia by providing a plane to transport medical personnel and supplies to Quibdó, his hometown, to assist those affected.

The Palmeiras and Colombian national team player reported that the aircraft would carry health professionals and medical supplies to help alleviate the situation in the Chocó department, the epicenter of the earthquake.
Arias, 28, expressed his solidarity with the affected families alongside his wife, Alejandra Ayala, and lamented the destruction of homes and the damage caused by the earthquake.
“We are available to provide the greatest help within our reach,” stated the footballer, who also called for unity and solidarity among Colombians in the face of the difficult circumstances.
Ayala, also a native of Quibdó, reported that they have set up bank accounts in Colombia and Brazil to receive donations for the affected people.

The earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.4 according to the Colombian Geological Service, had its epicenter in San José del Palmar, Chocó, and caused damage in different areas of the center and west of the country.
Arias asked his followers to remain united and support the communities affected by a tragedy that has hit the Chocó department especially hard.
