(Saudi Arabia) (EFE).- German Antonio Rüdiger, Real Madrid’s central defender, is doubtful for the Spanish Super Cup semi-final match, which takes place in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), this Thursday (20:00 CET, -1 GMT) against Atlético de Madrid due to knee discomfort.

Rüdiger is suffering from discomfort in his left knee and, although he was expected to start in the center of the defense, his presence in the match is at risk. In case he cannot participate, Dean Huijsen would take his place. The Spanish center-back has overcome a muscle overload that caused him to miss last Sunday’s match against Betis and would occupy the center of the defense alongside Raúl Asencio.

Without Mbappé

Xabi Alonso will certainly not be able to count on the French player Kylian Mbappé, who scored 29 of Real Madrid’s 59 goals this season, due to a knee sprain; nor on the Brazilian Éder Militao, who is still recovering from a rupture in the biceps femoris of his left leg with involvement of the proximal tendon; and without Brahim Díaz, who is playing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco.

You go down for a Super Cup semi-final against Atlético de Madrid that, if you overcome, would pit Real Madrid against FC Barcelona in Sunday’s final, who thrashed Athletic Club on Wednesday (5-0).
