SANTO DOMINGO. – The president of the Organizing Committee for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, José Monegro, announced that, starting this Thursday, July 24, the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center will function as a predominantly pedestrian space, as part of the comprehensive mobility plan designed to ensure the success of the multi-sport event.

Monegro explained that the measure seeks to offer a safer, more organized, and more comfortable experience for athletes, officials, volunteers, and spectators, while also facilitating movement between the different sports facilities located within the complex.
As part of the operation, he urged citizens to use the Santo Domingo Metro as the primary means of transport to reach the competition venues, with the purpose of reducing vehicle traffic in the vicinity of the Olympic Center.

He indicated that the Casandra Damirón and Joaquín Balaguer stations will be the main access points to the sports complex during the celebration of the Games.
Likewise, he reported that people traveling in private vehicles will be able to park in the parking lots enabled at the Plaza de la Cultura and continue the journey on foot or use the Metro service, which will offer quick and direct access to the facilities.
The president of the Organizing Committee assured that this mobility model will allow for a more efficient flow of thousands of people during the competitions, contributing to the order, safety, and organization of one of the most important sporting events in the region.
