Santo Domingo. The Directorate of Extra-hospital Emergency Care Services (DAEH) announced the deployment of 70 ambulances and a team of 300 collaborators to provide medical coverage during the celebration of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, which will be held from July 24 to August 8.

As the official entity in charge of pre-hospital care for the event, the DAEH will be present at all competition venues and sub-venues to offer a rapid and specialized response to athletes, delegations, technical staff, and the attending public.
The institution reported that it will implement an operational strategy that includes immediate medical attention at sports venues, patient stabilization, and safe transfer to health centers when necessary.
The director of the DAEH, Juan Manuel Méndez García, assured that the institution has deployed all human and logistical resources to guarantee an efficient service during the regional event.
“We have arranged all the necessary human and logistical resources to guarantee a timely, efficient, and high-quality medical response. Our staff will be prepared to act immediately in the event of any emergency, prioritizing the safety, health, and well-being of the athletes, the delegations, and every citizen attending this important sporting event,” stated Méndez García.
For his part, the head of the Out-of-Hospital Management Department, Dr. Ruddy de Gracia, explained that the operation seeks to strengthen the response capacity to any eventuality and contribute to the safe development of one of the most important sporting events that the Dominican Republic will host.
During the Games, services will be offered for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), triage in multiple-casualty incidents, management of dehydration, heat-related illnesses, care for blood glucose disorders in a sports environment, as well as assistance for other emergencies that may arise.
To coordinate operations, the DAEH appointed Dr. Joan Martínez as the person in charge of Santo Domingo and the Eastern Region; Dr. Luisanna Mercedes for the Southern Region; and Dr. Aljeriz Jerez for the Cibao Region.

Likewise, Dr. Laritza Rojas, coordinator of the CRUE, will be in charge of the operability of out-of-hospital medical coverage, while Dr. Laura Rodríguez, Engineer Sheyla Consuegra, and Dr. Luis Almonte will supervise the care and assistance protocols.
With this deployment, the DAEH reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of athletes, delegations, and fans during the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.
