Argentina captain Lionel Messi, 39, has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or, the prestigious award presented by France Football magazine.
The nomination marks Messi’s 17th Ballon d’Or nomination. The Inter Miami star has won the prestigious award eight times, the most in its history.
Messi is among a group of major stars nominated this year, including France’s Kylian Mbappé, Spain’s Lamine Yamal, Norway’s Erling Haaland and Brazil’s Vinicius Jr.
