PARIS, France.- The Spaniards Lamine Yamal, Marc Cucurella, Rodri, and Pau Cubarsí appear among the 30 footballers nominated for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, an award that distinguishes the best player in the world.

The four of them are part of the Spanish national team that won the 2026 World Cup and share a list of candidates with some of the main figures of international football.

Among the most prominent names also appear the Argentine Lionel Messi, of Inter Miami, and the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, of Real Madrid, protagonists of the last world championship.

The list of candidates also includes the Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, European champion with Paris Saint-Germain; the Englishman Harry Kane, striker for Bayern Munich, and the Norwegian Erling Haaland, attacker for Manchester City.

Also included were Ousmane Dembélé, winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or and Champions League champion with PSG; the Colombian Luis Díaz, from Bayern Munich; the Englishman Jude Bellingham, from Real Madrid, and the Portuguese Bruno Fernandes, midfielder for Manchester United.

The roster thus brings together world champions, figures from European clubs, and some of the most outstanding players of the season, in a race whose main objective will be to succeed Dembélé as the winner of the prestigious award.
