RD joins this May 10th in the global Wings for Life World Run

Santo Domingo, R.D. — Everything is ready for the Dominican Republic to join the Wings for Life World Run this Sunday, May 10th, an international event that brings together thousands of participants simultaneously with the aim of raising funds for spinal cord injury research.

The day in the country will begin at 6:30 in the morning at the Dr. Rafael María Moscoso National Botanical Garden, in sync with runners from different parts of the world, thanks to the initiative promoted by Red Bull. The 2025 edition set a historical record by bringing together more than 310 thousand participants from 191 nationalities in more than 170 countries, managing to raise 8.6 million euros entirely for scientific research. This impact positions the race as one of the largest and most significant in the world, not only in sports, but also in the social sphere. The event maintains its innovative format, in which there is no fixed goal. Instead, a “Catcher Car” starts chasing the runners 30 minutes after the start, determining the end of each participant’s course. This dynamic allows for the inclusion of professional athletes, amateurs, and people in wheelchairs under the same conditions. Interested parties can participate in person or through the official application, connecting in real time with thousands of runners globally. Beyond the competition, the Wings for Life Foundation promotes a clear message: every step counts in the search for a cure. 100% of the proceeds go to scientific projects focused on improving the quality of life of people with spinal cord injuries. This weekend, the invitation is to run with a purpose, in a cause that transcends sport and aims to change lives.
