Global investment linked to artificial intelligence could surpass $1 trillion in 2026, according to an estimate from Goldman Sachs Research published last week.
The estimate includes spending by private companies, Asian firms and other players that are not typically reflected in traditional measurements. Of the projected total, approximately $581 billion would come from the United States.
The figure exceeds the market’s more commonly cited estimate of around $800 billion in capital spending by major U.S. hyperscalers during 2026.
Goldman Sachs also estimates that cumulative global investment in artificial intelligence since 2022 could reach approximately $1.8 trillion by the end of this year.
