Santo Domingo. The National Police reported this Friday that they are continuing the search for Erickson Antonio Bonilla Villalona, 20, identified as the main suspect in the death of Génesis Portorreal Prandy, a 15-year-old teenager who passed away after remaining hospitalized for several days due to suspected poisoning.

According to the institution’s spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, the minor was taken by her mother to the Dr. Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital after experiencing health complications. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, she passed away early this Friday morning.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the teenager allegedly ingested a toxic substance during an incident that occurred last Thursday. However, authorities noted that it will be necessary to locate and interrogate the main person involved to clarify the circumstances of the case.

Pesqueira recalled that Bonilla Villalona had been arrested on June 26 for an alleged physical assault against the minor. The following day, he was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and was subsequently released, despite the existence of an arrest warrant against him.
