Police launch search for man investigated in the death of Rebeca Brizard following liposuction

Santo Domingo.– The National Police, in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, maintains an active search for Emanuel Hernández, identified as the person who allegedly performed cosmetic surgery on Rebeca Brizard, who passed away during a cosmetic procedure.

The institution’s spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, reported that the authorities are deepening the investigations to clarify the circumstances in which the death occurred and to determine the corresponding responsibilities.

Pesqueira explained that, for the moment, the version that Hernández was posing as a doctor or that he was actually working as a barber has not been confirmed, so that information is part of the investigations being carried out by the investigative bodies.

In that sense, he indicated that the National Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office are verifying whether the investigated person possesses the credentials, licenses, and legal authorizations to practice medicine and perform aesthetic surgical procedures.

The investigations began following the complaint filed by the victim’s relatives, while efforts continue to locate the suspect and bring him to justice.
