SANTO DOMINGO.– A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded this Tuesday morning in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, northeast of the municipality of Cabrera, María Trinidad Sánchez province, with no reports of material damage or affected persons so far.
According to the preliminary report from the National Seismological Center (CNS) of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), the seismic movement occurred about 95.7 kilometers northeast of Cabrera and had an approximate depth of 10 kilometers.
The report specifies that the epicenter was located at coordinates 20.200 degrees north latitude and 69.210 degrees west longitude, in a maritime zone of the Atlantic.
Following the event, authorities did not issue reports regarding incidents related to the earthquake, although the competent agencies continue to monitor the situation.
