Quito.- A magnitude 4 earthquake was recorded this Wednesday in the coastal province of Guayas, located in southwestern Ecuador, with no reports of casualties or material damage so far.
According to the Geophysical Institute, the earthquake took place at 02:33 local time (07:33 GMT) at 0.87 degrees south latitude and 79.82 degrees west longitude.
According to the source, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 70 kilometers and 28.34 kilometers from the town of Velasco Ibarra, a strategic location that connects the provinces of Guayas, Los Ríos, and Manabí.

The earthquake occurred after a 4.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded on Tuesday off the coast of Manabí and another of 3.4 on Monday in Guayas, which borders Manabí.
