Azua. -During a meeting with leaders of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) and community leaders of the Las Charcas municipality, presidential hopeful Abel Martínez urged his leadership to work permanently to build the conditions that will allow the party to return to power in the 2028 elections.

In his speech, Martínez stated that his political project seeks to lead a government that, as he expressed, upholds national sovereignty, strengthens institutions, and promotes the dignity of the Dominican people.

The political leader also called for expanding the support base of his project, inviting all citizens who, in his view, are committed to the defense of patriotic values and national identity to join.

During the event, Martínez addressed the issue of migration and expressed his concern regarding the entry of Haitian citizens into the country in an irregular migratory status. In that context, he maintained that the Dominican Republic must strengthen its border control policies and enforce immigration laws to protect national sovereignty.

Likewise, he stated that the PLD must prepare to present a government proposal focused on security, economic development, and the strengthening of institutions, ahead of the 2028 elections.

The meeting in Las Charcas brought together PLD leaders, community members, and supporters of the political organization, who reaffirmed their backing for the presidential project led by Abel Martínez.
