Santo Domingo.– President Luis Abinader will carry out a work agenda this weekend in the provinces of La Vega and Santiago, where he will participate in religious activities, oversee important infrastructure works, and inaugurate projects related to education, early childhood, and housing.
The president’s day will begin this Saturday, August 1st, in La Vega with his participation in the inauguration of the new bishop of the diocese, Monsignor Andrés Napoleón Romero Cárdenas, in a ceremony that will be held at the Inmaculada Concepción Cathedral.
Subsequently, the head of State will inaugurate the roofing of the Mercedes Morel Polytechnic and the Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Center (CAIPI) La Arboleda. In addition, he will hold a meeting with students from public high schools and private schools to talk about education, leadership, and opportunities for youth.
As part of his agenda in that province, Abinader will also oversee the progress of the construction of the Guaigüí dam, considered a strategic project to strengthen the water supply and the agricultural and productive development of the region.
Activities in Santiago
On Sunday, August 2nd, the president will travel to Santiago, where he will lead the handover of apartments in Hato del Yaque, as part of government programs aimed at expanding access to decent housing.

Later, he/she will preside over the graduation of young people from the Oportunidad 14-24 program in the Northern Region, an initiative aimed at facilitating labor insertion and the development of skills among adolescents and youth.
The agenda will conclude with the graduation of the fourth class of migration agents, who will go on to reinforce migration control and management efforts at various points in the country.
