Dajabón.– Members of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) detained ten Haitian citizens in an irregular migratory status, following a pursuit that ended with the abandonment of the vehicle in which they were being transported, in the vicinity of the Aminilla community, Dajabón province.
According to the report, the intervention occurred when a military patrol detected a gray Honda CR-V SUV, which was allegedly being used to transport undocumented foreigners, prompting them to initiate a pursuit.
During the escape, the driver lost control of the vehicle and fell into a dry canal located on the Maguaca highway, near the Aminilla community. After the accident, the man abandoned the SUV and fled in an unknown direction.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, the military personnel found ten Haitian nationals in an irregular migratory status, consisting of eight men and two women, who were detained at the scene.

The Army reported that both the SUV and the foreigners were placed under military custody for the corresponding legal purposes and will subsequently be handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), in accordance with established procedures.
The institution reiterated that it maintains permanent surveillance and interdiction operations in the border zone and other areas under its responsibility, with the objective of combating the illicit trafficking of migrants and reinforcing territorial control.
