Dajabón.– The Dominican Republic Army (ERD) reported the detention of 28 Haitian nationals in an irregular migratory status during a surveillance operation carried out in the Dajabón province.
The intervention was carried out by drone units and ground patrols belonging to the 10th Infantry Battalion of the ERD, who intercepted the group in the vicinity of kilometer 3 of the Dajabón highway, near the area known as Las Cabañas El Bohío.
According to the official report, among those detained were 18 men, five women, and five minors, who were located during interdiction efforts carried out by military troops in the border area.
Following the arrest, the foreigners were transferred and handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), the institution in charge of continuing with the procedure established by law.

The Army reported that it maintains permanent surveillance and control operations on the Dominican border, with the objective of confronting irregular migration, combating networks dedicated to the illicit trafficking of people, and reinforcing security in the areas under its responsibility.
