Authorities expand investigation to clarify death of Spanish citizen

Santo Domingo.- The National Police and the Public Ministry affirmed this Tuesday that they deepened the investigations into the death of a Spanish citizen, whose body was found inside a vehicle in a rural area northwest of the country. Authorities said in a note that the lifeless body of Antonio Jiménez López was found last Saturday sitting in the driver’s seat of an SUV, on La Trujillista highway, in the municipal district of Maizal, in the province of Valverde. Various pieces of evidence were collected at the scene, including a passport, a Spanish identity document, a driver’s license, 17,100 Dominican pesos, and foreign currency.

The body presented a gunshot wound in the left temporal region with an exit through the right ear pavilion, which caused internal bleeding. The Police added that the body was taken to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding purposes.
