Santo Domingo.– Banco Caribe, in partnership with Revista Mercado, recognized entrepreneur Elvira Garrido, founder of Pork and Beer RD, during the 2026 edition of Visión Emprendedora, as part of the SME Expansion initiative promoted by the financial institution.
Garrido became the first entrepreneur recognized by Banco Caribe within this program, developed with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), with the purpose of promoting the growth and strengthening of Dominican small and medium-sized enterprises.
Pork and Beer RD, with operations in Santo Domingo and Santiago, has managed to stand out for its gastronomic proposal focused on highlighting elements of Dominican culture, with dishes such as baked pork rinds (chicharrón) and mofongo, as well as an experience oriented towards family enjoyment.
The company’s trajectory was selected as an example of innovation, perseverance, and growth within the national entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Through Pyme Expansión, Banco Caribe offers financing tools, advisory services, and support to help entrepreneurs looking to develop and expand their businesses. The initiative is part of a strategic alliance with the IDB, aimed at strengthening the capabilities of SMEs and facilitating their access to growth opportunities.

As part of the Entrepreneurial Vision 2026 agenda, a panel on financing was also held, in which representatives from the banking sector participated, addressing the challenges and opportunities that Dominican entrepreneurs face in accessing resources and consolidating their projects.
With this recognition, Banco Caribe reaffirms its support for national entrepreneurship and highlights the contribution of entrepreneurs who drive new initiatives and generate value in the Dominican economy.
