Banreservas launches Expo SMEs 2026 with rates from 10.25%; Aguilera reaffirms commitment to SMEs

Santo Domingo.- Banco de Reservas launched its Expo Pymes 2026, which will be in effect from March 5 to April 30, with financing rates from 10.25%, fixed for six months, and terms of up to 24 months to pay.

The CEO of Banreservas, Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, stated that with these competitive rates, the institution reaffirms its commitment to all SMEs in the country to facilitate the financing they need, having extensive experience and service capacity to boost their growth.

Aguilera highlighted the importance of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, which contribute more than 34% of the gross domestic product and promote social participation, innovation and the economic development of the country.

“Banreservas has granted more than RD$30,000 credits, with disbursements exceeding RD$61,000 million, which have impacted the entire national geography, demonstrating the importance that the bank of all Dominicans assigns to this segment of our economy,” he indicated.

He revealed that in 2025 the institution granted financing to the SME segment for more than RD$16,000 million, which represented an 18% increase compared to 2024, benefiting more than 8,440 businesses.

He highlighted that SMEs represent 98% of the business fabric and generate more than 3 million jobs, which is equivalent to 61.6% of the employed population.

Furthermore, he highlighted that 53% of MSMEs in the Dominican Republic are led by women, compared to the regional average of 40%, therefore Banreservas reaffirms its commitment to the country’s development and to those who drive economic growth.

Likewise, he valued President Luis Abinader’s vision and his concern for the strengthening of this strategic sector, fundamental for the economic and social development of the country.
