The Brazilian Government discussed this Monday with executives from the Chinese construction machinery manufacturer Sany the possible installation of a new industrial plant in the South American country, official sources reported.
The project was discussed in a meeting that the Brazilian Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, on an official visit to China, held with Chen Jiayuan, a member of the Board of Directors of Sany, and Alex Xiao, president of the Brazilian division of the group.
The new factory would be dedicated to the production, assembly, and distribution of equipment for the construction, mining, oil, gas, and electrical storage sectors.

According to the Ministry of Mines and Energy in a note, the work can transform Brazil “into the center of industrial and technological operations of Sany for Latin America”.
During the visit, the company presented to the Brazilian delegation its solutions in the area of battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The Brazilian government plans to hold an auction for this type of battery in the coming months.
Silveira stated that his visit “symbolizes the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Brazil and China”, the largest trading partner of the South American country.
“We are creating a safe and predictable environment for investments, which generates employment, income and sustainable development, with Brazil taking a leading role in the global industry and in the energy transition,” said the minister, quoted in the note.
Sany, founded in 1989 and listed on the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges, manufactures excavators, machinery for cement work, lifting equipment, and pile driving or road paving artifacts.
His career in Brazil began in 2007 as an importer. In 2011, he opened his first factory in the country in the city of São José dos Campos, in the interior of the state of São Paulo.
At the end of 2017, it consolidated its presence with new facilities in the municipality of Jacareí, also in São Paulo. In addition, it has a wide network of distributors and subsidiaries in all Brazilian regions to offer its maintenance products and services.
