Santo Domingo. – The Alcoholic Beverage Control Directorate (COBA), a dependency of the Ministry of Interior and Police, exceeded the established business supervision goal for 2025 by 163%, by carrying out 266,937 supervisions and regulating 56,487 establishments throughout the national territory.
These results consolidate a comprehensive strategy that combines prevention, guidance, supervision, and institutional modernization to strengthen citizen coexistence and compliance with regulations.
The operational performance of COBA is also reflected in the completion of 10,514 inspections and 69 control and supervision operations, executed as part of Operation Peace Guarantee, an initiative aimed at ensuring compliance with the established schedules for establishments selling alcoholic beverages, reducing conflicts, and contributing to citizen security.

As part of institutional strengthening, COBA has initiated the digital transformation of its inspection processes through the implementation of a pilot plan that will allow for the recording and consultation, in real time, of information generated during field work. This innovation will strengthen the traceability of actions, optimize operational control, and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
In the preventive sphere, the institution developed more than 260 talks, workshops, and orientation sessions on compliance with Decree 308-06 and Resolution 001-2022, directly impacting more than 4,200 owners, administrators, and citizens.

These actions seek to promote knowledge of the regulations governing the operating hours of grocery stores, bars, nightclubs, and other entertainment venues, fostering a culture of voluntary compliance.
Likewise, in coordination with the National Directorate for Children and Adolescents (NNA), it carried out joint operations aimed at preventing the presence of minors in establishments that sell alcoholic beverages, reinforcing actions for the protection of children and adolescents and promoting compliance with current regulations.
The COBA strengthened dialogue and service channels with merchants and establishment owners, promoting institutional mediation and the timely attention of situations derived from supervision processes, with the purpose of generating relationships of trust and greater co-responsibility in compliance with current provisions.
