AZUA.– Several people were injured after a traffic accident occurred on the Azua–San Juan highway, near the community known as 15 de Azua. The incident involved a public transport bus traveling from Hondo Valle and an SUV.
According to preliminary data, the impact caused injuries to several occupants of both vehicles. Emergency teams immediately went to the scene to provide assistance to those affected, who were transferred to different health centers in the area. So far, the authorities have not offered details about the medical condition of the injured.
The accident caused a temporary blockage on the road, while agents from the General Directorate of Traffic and Ground Transportation Safety (DIGESETT) and members of rescue organizations carried out rescue work, traffic regulation, and information gathering to determine the causes of the crash.
Authorities reiterated the call for drivers to drive with caution, comply with traffic regulations, and respect speed limits, especially on roads with high vehicular traffic.
