Court to hear final stage of Gabi Desangles and Tamara Martínez case this Wednesday

Santo Domingo.– The judicial process involving communicators Gabi Desangles and Tamara Martínez enters a decisive phase this Wednesday with the continuation of the hearing in the Second Chamber of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of First Instance of the National District, where the final conclusions of the parties will be presented.

During the day, the plaintiff, constituted as a civil actor, represented by the lawyers Ángel Leonel Cano and Nelson Burgosen on behalf of Gabi, will present its conclusions on the merits of the case, while the technical defense of Tamara, headed by Luis Emilio López, will also present its final arguments. After hearing the pending arguments, magistrate Clara Luz Almonte could leave the case file in a state of ruling and subsequently issue a decision on the case.

The Public Ministry had already presented its conclusions in a previous hearing, where it requested a one-year prison sentence against Tamara Martínez, in addition to the payment of compensation equivalent to 200 minimum wages in the public sector, within the process for alleged defamation and insult under Law 53-07 on High Technology Crimes and Offenses. The hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. in the courtroom of the Second Chamber of the Criminal Court of the First Instance Court of the National District, located in the Justice Palace of Ciudad Nueva.
