The two-time president of the Republic, Danilo Medina, considered this Monday that the Dominican people should follow political leaders for what they do and not for what they say in a given situation.
When questioned about his opinion on the alleged embezzlement at Senasa, the also president of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), declared that the case should serve as a lesson for the population.
“People who constantly want to validate themselves by talking about honesty, transparency, and purity, the Dominican population has to follow them for what they do, not for the speech they give,” he expressed.
At the end of the commemorative activities for the 52nd anniversary of the PLD, Medina assured that a person who is honest, pure, and integral, does not live preaching those values.
“It is enough to know the steps through life, to have an idea of who they are. The Dominican people must learn to know people, not by their speech, but by what they do. And, for me, the greatest lesson is that…” he stated.
