DINTEL arrests two people, seizes cocaine and rifle during operation in Santo Domingo Oeste

Members of the Regional Intelligence Sub-Directorate (DINTEL) of Santo Domingo Oeste arrested on Thursday night the captain of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) Lorenzo Pascual Pérez Guzmán, 51 years old, and Jansel Rivas González, 37, during an operation carried out under the guidelines of the general director of Santo Domingo Oeste, General Escalante. The intervention occurred after intelligence work that allowed tracking a vehicle traveling on the 6 de Noviembre highway. Upon noticing the police presence, the driver fled, later being arrested on República de Colombia Avenue, where Rivas González, who was traveling in another vehicle linked to the case, was also arrested.

During the search, carried out in the presence of the Public Ministry, the authorities seized eleven packages of a white powder presumably cocaine, a 5.56 mm caliber rifle with ammunition, cash, mobile phones, electronic tablets and other objects. The detainees and the seized items were placed at the disposal of the justice system.
