Santo Domingo. The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and the Public Ministry intensified their operations against micro-trafficking in different sectors of the National District, where they arrested 14 people and seized more than 3,900 grams of narcotic substances during raids and targeted interventions.
As part of the offensive, agents and prosecutors carried out eight raids and multiple operations in neighborhoods of the capital, managing to seize 2,231 grams of alleged cocaine, 1,540 grams of marijuana, 144 doses of crack, eight electronic cigarettes with liquid presumably derived from marijuana, 21 gummies made with that substance, and five ecstasy pills.
During the actions, a revolver with several cartridges, a money counting machine, two sealers, 15 cell phones, six scales, two communication radios, three grinders, a motorcycle, a bulletproof vest, as well as cash in pesos and dollars, among other evidence, were also seized.

The operations were concentrated in the sectors of Villa Francisca, Cristo Rey, Capotillo, Simón Bolívar, Ensanche Luperón, La Zurza, San Carlos, Villa Consuelo, Ensanche La Paz, Mar Azul, 30 de Mayo, and the sector known as 7/2 of Sánchez Avenue, among other points identified by the authorities.
According to the DNCD, these interventions are part of a permanent strategy developed together with the Public Ministry and coordinated by the Joint Task Force (FTC), with the purpose of dismantling structures dedicated to the trafficking and sale of drugs at the local level.

The authorities indicated that the objective of these actions is to remove the ringleaders of criminal networks linked to micro-trafficking from circulation, dismantle their operations, and recover public spaces to strengthen citizen security.
The detainees and all seized evidence were placed under the control of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
