San Pedro de Macorís.– The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), in coordination with the Public Ministry, reported that, as part of the follow-up to the operations carried out during the last seven days, it conducted several raids and interdictions that culminated in the arrest of 21 people and the seizure of 9,580.2 grams of alleged narcotic substances.
The operations were carried out in the sectors of El Brisal, Villa Magdalena, Villa Progreso, Villa Faro, Barrio Lindo, La 30, Barrio México, Barrio Blanco, and Filipinas, as well as the municipalities of Quisqueya, Consuelo, and Ramón Santana, among other locations in the province.
During the interventions, the authorities seized 9,096.60 grams of a white powder, presumably cocaine; 418.40 grams of a vegetable substance, presumably marijuana, and 65.20 grams of a rocky material, presumed to be crack.

Likewise, five scales, seven cell phones, and RD$10,885.00 in cash were seized.
The DNCD indicated that the names of the detainees are being withheld to ensure respect for due process and their fundamental rights. All were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
