Santo Domingo.– Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), in coordination with members of the Public Ministry, arrested a man identified as a major distributor of narcotic substances during an operation carried out in the municipality of San Rafael del Yuma, La Altagracia province.
The detainee was identified as Richart Cenfret, of Haitian nationality, who was captured during an intervention at a home located on an unnamed street, near a vacant lot in the downtown area of that town.
According to the authorities, Cenfret is allegedly part of a micro-trafficking network led by an individual known as “El Viejo,” who remains a fugitive and is being actively sought.

During the raid, carried out under a court order, agents seized three packages of alleged cocaine weighing 1,674 grams, 47 portions of the same substance, and eight bags of a vegetable substance presumed to be marijuana, with a total weight of 3,501 grams. Several additional portions of the vegetable substance, equivalent to 83 grams, were also confiscated.
During the operation, a Maverick 12-gauge shotgun with three cartridges, a black bulletproof vest, a scale, four cell phones, six packs of cigarettes, and RD$2,185 in cash were also seized.
The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Permanent Attention Jurisdiction of La Altagracia, where in the coming hours coercive measures will be heard for alleged violation of Law 50-88 on Drugs and Controlled Substances.
