Dominican Cardiology Foundation successfully holds the 28th Heart Walk in La Romana
La Romana. – The Dominican Foundation of Cardiology celebrated with great participation the 28th edition of the traditional Heart Walk, an event that every year promotes physical activity and the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
The event brought together hundreds of people, both young and adults, who walked through different streets in the central part of the city until they reached the roundabout on Padre Abreu Avenue. Residents from various sectors of La Romana participated, as well as visitors from nearby communities and other provinces of the country.
Dr. Osiris Valdez, ideologue and founder of the initiative, as well as president of the foundation, highlighted the importance of maintaining healthy habits and exercising regularly. He pointed out that walking has become a tradition that coincides with the month of love, reminding the population of the need to take care of the heart and prevent cardiovascular diseases.
Valdez explained that the activity seeks to raise awareness about the increase in cases of hypertension and other heart conditions, which continue to be one of the main causes of mortality in the Dominican Republic.

The foundation reiterated its call to citizens to adopt an active lifestyle under the slogan: “Walk, run, move for your health”, highlighting that small changes in the daily routine can make a big difference in the quality of life.
