Santo Domingo. – The Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivares, presented to representatives of the business sector the main programs that make up the RD-Trabaja initiative, aimed at promoting formal labor insertion, access to social security, and the training of workers and young people.
Olivares explained that one of the central axes of the program is aimed at job seekers, who will be incorporated into companies to receive practical training for a period of three months, during which time the Ministry of Labor will assume the payment of the salary and will guarantee their inclusion in the social security system.
“After that process, if the person meets the required profile, the company has the opportunity to integrate them as a formal employee,” said the official, highlighting that it is a direct mechanism for access to formal employment.
The minister also reported that RD-Trabaja includes training programs, especially for young people and people who are already working, in coordination with INFOTEP, to whom the Ministry will grant a support stipend to cover transportation and food expenses during the training process.
Olivares indicated that these initiatives are part of a comprehensive strategy that seeks to strengthen business leadership, improve employability, and build a more inclusive and sustainable labor market.
