Santo Domingo.– Edesur Dominicana activated its contingency plan for the 2026 hurricane season, with the aim of strengthening its response capacity and restoring electrical service in the shortest possible time, in the event that an atmospheric phenomenon affects its electrical networks.
The company contemplates preventive, operational, and recovery actions to be executed before, during, and after any meteorological event, in order to avoid accidents, minimize damage to electrical infrastructure, and facilitate system recovery.
The plan includes the activation of emergency committees and work centers, protocols for communication, strategic distribution of technical brigades and resources, safety measures for personnel and contractors, as well as inter-institutional coordination and customer service.
Likewise, service restoration will be prioritized in circuits that power national security centers, hospitals, aqueducts, state institutions, and official shelters, with the purpose of guaranteeing the continuity of essential services to the population.
