Edesur has normalized more than 200 thousand customers who were stealing electricity

During the first semester of 2026, Edesur Dominicana normalized 241,000 customers, as part of its strategy to streamline service, reduce electrical losses, and combat electricity fraud.

The normalizations are included in the 318,211 actions carried out by the distributor between January and June of this year, which included supply adjustments, dismantling, meter changes, and the elimination of direct connections.

A total of 227,147 residential customers and 13,984 prepaid customers who had illegal connections, detected during field interventions.


Edesur also executed 20,551 dismantlings, 10,560 removals of direct connections, and replaced some 35,573 meters, thus contributing to transparency in the supply.
Also, as part of its service regularization strategy, the company managed to acquire 10,396 customers in the aforementioned period.

With these actions, Edesur Dominicana reaffirms its commitment to reducing electrical losses, regularizing service, and strengthening the electrical system to ensure its sustainability.
