The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic published the reference prices for the purchase and sale of the euro for this Wednesday, August 19, as follows:
In financial institutions, the euro purchase rate stood at RD$65.50, while the selling rate reached RD$69.82.
When comparing these figures with the close of the previous day (August 17), a slight depreciation of the euro of -0.24% in the purchase and -0.15% in the sale is observed.
On the other hand, Remittance and Exchange Agents reported a purchase rate of RD$66.86 and a sale rate of RD$68.73
In this sector, the European currency experienced a daily depreciation of -0.27% in both buying and selling compared to the previous day.
However, the most relevant data is the robust long-term recovery of the Dominican peso: compared to the 2025 closing, the euro has lost 10.65% of its value against the national currency at the financial counter.
