Santiago.– More than four months after the death of 30-year-old Angélica Geraldine Hernández, following cosmetic surgery at the Diosa center, her relatives denounced the slowness of the investigation this Wednesday, asserting that they have yet to receive the official autopsy results or information regarding possible legal proceedings, despite the fact that the forensic report was reportedly issued several weeks ago.
Laura Hernández, the victim’s sister, stated that the family maintains its trust in the Public Prosecutor’s Office, but considered that the process is advancing with excessive delay.
“We trust the Prosecutor’s Office, but the process is too slow,” he stated.
He indicated that, according to what they were informed, the report from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) was issued approximately a month ago; however, to date, the family members have not had access to the document nor do they know the official conclusions regarding the cause of death.
The family also asserted that documents provided by the Ministry of Public Health to their legal representation show alleged irregularities in the operation of the center where the surgical procedure was performed.
Among the anomalies noted are the alleged lack of authorization to perform cosmetic surgeries, the absence of nursing staff, deficiencies in the oxygen supply, and the lack of blood availability to handle potential medical emergencies.

Likewise, they reported inconsistencies regarding the identity of the doctor who was supposed to perform the procedure and the professional registered in the informed consent signed by the patient.
Another of the deceased’s sisters, Ericka Hernández, stated that some family members have received threats to drop the legal proceedings, a situation that, she said, increases the concern of her relatives while they wait for responsibilities to be established.

“All I want is justice for my daughter. Since the day she died, our family has not had peace again. We do not want this case to go unpunished,” she expressed.
The relatives acknowledged that the Public Prosecutor’s Office has questioned several people linked to the medical center. However, they maintain that the progress has been insufficient and are demanding a faster response from the authorities to clarify the case and prevent it from remaining in impunity.
