Female deputies hold strategic meeting with military commanders in the El Valle region

Azua.– With the aim of strengthening inter-institutional coordination and promoting security and development in the El Valle region, the deputies Grey Pérez (Azua), Elvira Corporán (San Juan) and Millys Martínez (Elías Piña) held a working meeting with senior officers of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD).

The meeting was attended by Colonel Cruz, commander of the Third Infantry Brigade “General José María Cabral y Luna”, based in San Juan de la Maguana; by Lieutenant Colonel Jiménez, commander of the 13th Infantry Battalion, based at the Fortaleza 19 de Marzo de Azua, as well as other Army officers stationed in the region. During the meeting, priority issues related to border security, crime prevention, and the strengthening of the institutional presence in the communities of the region were addressed.

The lawmakers highlighted the importance of ongoing dialogue between the Legislative Branch and the Armed Forces, as a mechanism to guarantee social peace, support security efforts, and address the needs of the population. Furthermore, they reaffirmed their commitment to promote initiatives aimed at the well-being, stability, and integral development of the provinces they represent. The meeting was valued as a significant step to consolidate joint actions in favor of the security and development of the El Valle region.
