Fifth Regional Gala of the Arts Modality Held in Azua

Azua, DR.– The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD), through the Department of Secondary Education in the Arts Modality, held the fifth Regional Gala of the Arts Modality in Regional 03 of Azua, consolidating this event as an important platform for student artistic expression. The activity, brimming with color, creativity, and talent, paid tribute to outstanding Azuan artists such as Luis Miguel del Amargue, Kinito Méndez, and Olga Lara, who were recognized for their careers and valuable contributions to Dominican art and culture. The main objective of the event was to showcase the skills, creativity, and technical competencies developed by secondary school students in disciplines such as music, visual arts, multimedia, and crafts, demonstrating the positive impact of arts education on the comprehensive development of young people. The director of Regional 03 of Azua, Jorge Antonio de los Santos, valued the effort of the participants and congratulated the students for their dedication and commitment. Likewise, the head of the Arts Modality of MINERD, Gelson Navarro, highlighted that this initiative responds to the strategic axes of the Ministry, focused on strengthening an inclusive, innovative, and quality education.

The gala was organized by Scarlin Beltré, regional coordinator of the Arts Modality, and featured the participation of students from the educational districts 03-01 of Azua, 03-02 of Padre Las Casas, 03-03 of San José de Ocoa, 03-04 of Baní and 03-05 of Nizao. With this initiative, the Regional Gala reaffirms the commitment of the Dominican educational system to the promotion of art as a tool for social transformation and the development of youth talent.
