Azua, D.R.– Educator and academic Francisco Ramírez officially assumed the directorship of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) Center in Azua, with a commitment to promote academic development, strengthen research, and tighten the relationship between the university and the various sectors of the province.
Ramírez’s appointment represents the beginning of a new stage for the university campus, led by a professional with extensive experience in educational management and a deep understanding of the challenges facing education in the southern region of the country.
With more than 40 years of experience in the Dominican educational system, Francisco Ramírez has developed a career focused on teacher training, research, and academic administration. He holds a PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, a master’s degree in Education Administration and Supervision, an International Master’s in University Management, and various specializations related to leadership and educational management.
Throughout his career, he has held important positions, including Director of Postgraduate Studies at UASD in San Juan, Academic Dean of the Technological University of the South (UTESUR), Regional Director of Education in Azua, and Executive Director of the National Institute for Teacher Training and Development (INAFOCAM).
He has also served as a university professor, researcher, and lecturer, contributing to the strengthening of higher education and the training of the national teaching staff.

Sectors of the university community hope that the new administration will allow for the expansion of professional training opportunities, raise academic quality, and promote research and outreach projects aimed at responding to the development needs of Azua and the Southern region.
