Fuerza del Pueblo swears in leaders from the PRM in Elías Piña

Santo Domingo.– The president of the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) party, Leonel Fernández, led an activity to swear in new members of that political organization, in which important leaders from the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) were incorporated, especially from the province of Elías Piña. The act coordinated by retired General Rafael Guillermo Guzmán Fermín, member of the Political Directorate of the FP; Ramón Aquino García, head of the Secretariat of Security and Defense; and also retired General Dámaso Piña, who highlighted the political impact of these adhesions in the border region. Among the newly sworn in are three-time councilman Félix Manuel Sánchez; lawyer Ligia Alfonza Figuereo, with more than 20 years of experience as a first instance judge; as well as agricultural producers Eusebio (Ravelo) Fortuna and Alfonso Jiménez, along with a large team of community and political leaders who decided to leave the ranks of the ruling party. Likewise, leaders and professionals such as Benjamín Polanco, Julio Ángel Paniagua, Jernry Cuello Jiménez, Ángel María Jiménez, Nabel Adames, Ramón Raúl Vázquez, Francis Encarnación, Héctor Encarnación, Luis Alberto Valdez, Santos Herminio Cueva, Nurys Lauris Encarnación, Carlos Isaías Díaz and Roberto Encarnación, among other social and community leaders from the border area, were also integrated into the Fuerza del Pueblo.

The political organization reported that these inaugurations are part of a national agenda for organizational strengthening, which will continue during the afternoon of this Saturday with new activities headed by Leonel Fernández in the municipality of Villa Altagracia, where leaders from the municipal districts of La Cuchilla and Medina will be sworn in, at the premises of the Organic Producers Association of Villa Altagracia (ASOPROVILLA). The Fuerza del Pueblo leadership highlighted that the party’s sustained growth reflects citizen discontent with the current government’s management and consolidates FP as a political alternative with a vocation for power, in view of the upcoming electoral processes.
