Havana. -Raúl Guillermo Rodríguez Castro, known as “El Cangrejo” and grandson of former Cuban president Raúl Castro, was linked to alleged ties with an organization dedicated to human trafficking and smuggling operating between Cuba, Mexico, and the United States, according to an investigation published this Tuesday by The New York Times.

According to the report, court documents and testimonies reviewed by the American newspaper indicate that Rodríguez Castro allegedly used his closeness to the Cuban power elite to provide protection to the criminal network. Among the accusations is the alleged support to facilitate the illegal departure of migrants from Cuba, as well as the entry of contraband goods into the country.
