Haitian national fugitive for homicide and robbery falls dead when confronting a Dicrim patrol in Batey Cacata, La Romana

La Romana.— A Haitian citizen, who was wanted for his alleged involvement in homicide and robbery, was shot dead after confronting a patrol of the Eastern Regional Sub-Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), in an event that occurred in Batey Cacata. According to the official report, the fugitive was injured during the confrontation and died while receiving medical attention. He was actively sought by arrest warrant for the death of a citizen in the municipality of Guaymate. The deceased was identified as Yodany Fransua, alias “Tato”, 22 years old, who, according to the authorities, confronted the agents with a Smith & Wesson pistol, 9 millimeter caliber. “Tato” was identified as the alleged responsible for the death of Yohangel Antonio Ortiz Rijo, 20 years old, which occurred on March 14th in the main street of the Los Cocos sector, in Guaymate. The firearm seized will be sent to the Scientific Police for the corresponding analyses and to determine its connection to other pending cases. The body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF), in San Pedro de Macorís, for the corresponding legal purposes.
