Santo Domingo. The Association of Health Psychologists (ASOPSALUD), National Association of Bioanalysts of the SNS (ASONABIDSS-SNS), Dominican Pharmaceutical Association (AFD), National Association of Technologists and Radiological Technicians (ASONATTER), National Association of Health Professionals and Technicians (ANATEPSIS), Group of Graduate Nurses of the SNS (AEGIDSS-SNS), Association of Pensioned and Retired Nurses (ASODEPIJ), and the National Association of Graduates and Higher Technicians in Medical Imaging (ASONALTIM).
The health sector unions address President Luis Abinader Corona, with the utmost respect and consideration, to request an audience that will allow them to directly present the concerns and needs of thousands of professionals and workers who, day after day, contribute to the well-being and health of the Dominican people. Furthermore, the meetings held with other actors in the sector give them confidence that these unions will also be received with the same spirit of dialogue, equity, and openness that should characterize an administration committed to social justice.
They express that a truly strengthened health system cannot exist without guaranteeing equal opportunities and fair treatment for all the professionals who comprise it. Psychologists, responsible for addressing the mental health and psychosocial well-being of the population; bioanalysts, fundamental for timely diagnosis; pharmacists, guarantors of the safe and appropriate use of medications; as well as medical imaging technicians and graduates, perform essential functions within the healthcare system.
