Santo Domingo.– Members of the Dominican College of Bioanalysts and the National Association of Retired Bioanalysts requested a meeting with President Luis Abinader to present a series of demands related to the labor, salary, and pension conditions affecting the sector. Bioanalysis professionals expressed their concern about the situation in public hospital laboratories, where they claim there is a marked shortage of staff that hinders the efficient provision of health services. Among their main demands are salary improvements, the appointment of more bioanalysts in hospital centers, better working conditions, and solutions for retired and pensioned professionals in the area.

The union leadership stated that the lack of human resources has increased the workload of the bioanalysts currently working in public hospitals, a situation that, they maintain, affects both the staff and the quality of care offered to patients. The sector representatives expressed their willingness to dialogue and stated that they hope to be received by the president to formally present their proposals and find solutions to the problems affecting bioanalysis professionals in the country. The request comes at a time when different unions in the health sector have raised similar demands related to better working conditions and strengthening public health services.
