Nagua, María Trinidad Sánchez.– Authorities are investigating the death of a young woman identified as Catherine Rosario Gutiérrez, whose body was found this Sunday afternoon, July 12, 2026, inside a home located in the community of Mata Bonita, Las Gordas municipal district, near the baseball field.
According to preliminary information, it is presumed that the young woman may have been the victim of a violent act. Unofficially, her husband has been mentioned as a person of interest in the investigation. However, this information has not been confirmed by the authorities, who are keeping the case under investigation.
Catherine Rosario Gutiérrez was a native of the municipality of Nagua, specifically from kilometer 3, and was the daughter of Peyi and Mrs. Mirian.
According to accounts obtained at the scene, the couple had spent time together yesterday. However, this Sunday Catherine was found without vital signs inside the home.
So far, it is unknown whether the alleged suspect, identified only by the nickname “Javielito”, has been arrested. According to unofficial reports, he resided in Santo Domingo and was accustomed to traveling on weekends to his mother’s house and other properties he owned in the area.
