JCE corrects error in Resolution 16-2025 regarding the distribution of funds to political parties

Santo Domingo. – The Central Electoral Board (JCE) reported this Thursday on a correction in Resolution No. 16-2025, related to the distribution of public funds allocated to political parties, groups and movements for the year 2025. According to the statement issued by the electoral body, a material error was detected in the third article of the document, which has already been corrected to faithfully reflect the provisions of the TSE/0010/2025 ruling, issued by the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE) on June 10, and in accordance with the provisions of article 61 of Law 33-18 on Political Parties.

With the applied correction, the State’s economic contribution to political parties in 2025 will be distributed as follows: 80% (RD$600,000,000.00) will be distributed in equal parts among the parties that obtained more than 5% of the valid votes in the seven levels of election of the elections held on February 18 and May 19, 2024. 12% (RD$90,000,000.00) will be distributed in equal parts to the parties that obtained more than 1% and less than 5% of the votes. 8% (RD$60,000,000.00) will be distributed among the parties that obtained between 0.01% and 1% of the valid votes, including those organizations with current legal status and those newly recognized after the elections.

Clarification:

The JCE made it clear that this error did not affect the final economic distribution contemplated in the seventh article of the resolution, whose total sum is RD$750 million pesos. With this rectification, the electoral body reaffirms its commitment to legality, transparency, and the correct application of the provisions established for the strengthening of the Dominican democratic system.
