L&R Comercial confirms total loss of the premises; there were no human victims

Santo Domingo Norte. – The marketing manager of L&R Comercial, Luis Suárez, reported that the fire that affected the company’s facilities in Villa Mella only left material losses, with no human victims reported. “Unfortunately, it was material loss, there was no human loss. Our entire team was able to get out unharmed”, expressed the store representative, highlighting that employees and customers managed to evacuate in time before the flames spread completely throughout the establishment. Suárez indicated that, so far, they do not have official information on the causes that originated the accident.

“They are trying to control the fire and then there will be a specialized team that will determine how the disaster happened. No, so far we do not handle that type of information,” he specified.

The manager also explained that some of the staff tried to rescue merchandise while the emergency was unfolding.

“What we do know is that some of our staff tried to save some of the merchandise, the products that we had on display on the first level,” he said.

Authorities continue with control and cooling efforts in the area, while official expert reports are awaited to determine the origin of the fire.
