The United States will return the two survivors of the attack on the alleged narco submarine destroyed last Thursday to Colombia and Ecuador, their countries of origin, President Donald Trump announced this Saturday on his social media. Two other people traveling on the vessel died, the president indicated, when the submersible was “sailing towards the United States along a known drug trafficking route.” Trump did not specify the location of the vessel when it was attacked. Trump’s publication is the official confirmation that for the first time there were survivors in this US military attack, the sixth in almost 50 days, which has left 29 dead, on alleged drug trafficking vessels in the Caribbean Sea.

On Friday, neither Trump nor the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, confirmed or denied that they had captured any survivors of the attacks.
