La Romana.- By order of Mayor Eduardo Kery Metivier, the La Romana City Hall carried out a general cleaning and conditioning operation on the main street of Romana del Oeste and its surrounding lands, with the aim of eliminating sources of pollution and improving environmental conditions.
All operational brigades, together with directors and departmental managers, moved to the site from 8:00 in the morning to join the cleaning efforts, which included cleaning streets, curbs, and sidewalks; elimination of improvised dumps; removal of weeds and clearing of land with the support of a mechanical shovel; tree pruning, carried out by the Fire Department, and patching work on some potholes in the road.
Mayor Eduardo Kery Metivier led the day and highlighted the municipal administration’s commitment to keeping the city clean and organized through waste collection and general cleaning actions. Likewise, he urged citizens to collaborate by keeping the streets free of trash.
