Libertarians are “available” to join Kast’s Government but set conditions
Santiago de Chile.– The far-right Libertarian National Party assured this Monday that it would be “available” to join the future government of the president-elect of Chile, José Antonio Kast, as long as some current policies are eliminated, which are “tremendously ideologized”.
«We are available to be part of a Government (…) to contribute without losing our identity. We cannot support policies that would be contrary to what is our declaration of principles if these were maintained over time», said the president of the party, deputy Johannes Kaiser, at a press conference.
Kaiser, who came in fourth in the first round of last November’s presidential election and obtained 13.9% of the votes, said that they will begin formal negotiations on Tuesday with Kast’s far-right Republican Party.
“There are policies that are in force from the State, which are tremendously ideological policies and that we believe should be neutralized,” the deputy pointed out.
