The Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) announced the availability of 2,000 scholarships for the virtual course “Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI): Foundations for the public service of Latin America and the Caribbean | DR Edition”, aimed at public servants from the country’s various public entities.

This initiative, supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), is developed within the framework of the Program for Strengthening the Civil Service Management of the Dominican Republic, which is executed by the MAP to strengthen the State’s capabilities and advance towards efficient, innovative public management aligned with current technological challenges.

The course, taught through Academia BID, offers an introduction to Generative Artificial Intelligence, addressing its main applications, as well as its ethical, responsible, and safe use in the public sector.

The training is completely virtual and self-paced, requires no prior knowledge, and offers certification to those who meet the requirements established in the program.

Through this training, public servants will be able to acquire tools that allow them to optimize tasks, improve processes, and strengthen their professional performance, incorporating Artificial Intelligence as an ally in their daily work.

The MAP highlighted that this initiative is part of the modernization process of the Dominican civil service, promoting the development of key digital competencies that contribute to a more agile, efficient, and results-oriented public administration.

Registration will be open until August 4, 2026.

To participate, interested individuals must contact their institution’s Human Resources unit to channel their registration.

With this action, the Ministry of Public Administration reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the human talent of the public sector, promoting the adoption of innovative tools that contribute to improving the quality of services offered to citizens, with the technical support of the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP), the entity responsible for promoting the training and development of public servants.
