Authorities indicated that security protocols were activated for users. No injuries were reported and passengers were transported to their destinations on company-owned buses.
Although the service continues normally in the rest of the stations, this event adds to at least two other previous derailments of the Mayan Train in the just over two years it has been in operation; the one in March 2024 at the Tixkokob station, in the same state of Yucatan; and the one in January 2025 in Limones, in Quintana Roo.
